Principal Report

Mardi Gras was great. A special thank you to Megan Carrier and Alyson Cooley for a great night. Everyone was happy and the raffle went off well.

The kids really enjoyed play day. They had the first half of play day in their classrooms and the second half with their teams.

PARCC Testing is underway. The teachers have been pumping up the children with good attitudes to help them do better on the tests. The computers were down one day last week so they will have to go into the week of March 19th for a make up day.

The rest of the chromebooks are all in now. They were put in the fifth grade classrooms and the children are really enjoying them.

There are six teachers going to see Matt Miller at a conference. He is the author of Ditch that Textbook. He will give the teachers more insight on how to teach in their classrooms. The cost of the conference is $75 per person. The money for the tickets comes out of Title money.

There have been two grades asking for extra field trips. The first one is Mr. Williams class. Mr. Williams class won the challenge for the walkathon. He would like to have a pizza party with his class from a pizza place outside of school. He would also like to get supplies for a project that his class will be making during an activity day. Any money that is left over from what WSO was going to be giving his class from winning he would like it to go towards a bounce house or water/popsicle for field day.

The fourth grade class would like to attend STEM again this year at NIU. The fourth grade class is reading First Women Detectives. The author of this book will be at NIU STEM.
